Ping LanDirector



   Ping Lan , Professor, doctoral tutor, president of Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, director of Guangdong Institute of Gastroenterology, receiver of special allowance of the State Council, and young expert having outstanding contributions in Ministry of Health. His research interests include immune microenvironmentof intestinal cancer and translational medicine of inflammatory bowel disease. He has undertaken over 30 projects including the National Science and Technology Support Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 200 monographs. His research has been published in Blood, JCI and other magazines. He has received more than 20 awards, for example, Chinese Physician Award, American Academy of Surgeons International Scholars Award, Organ Transplant Association Young Investigator Award, Ministry of Health Outstanding Young Scientist Award and the first prize of provincial science and technology progress. He has cultivated more than 30 masters and doctors. He is deputy editor-in-chief of Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine in Colorectal Surgery; member of editorial board in more than 10 journals, for example, Journal of Chines Medicine (English), In t J Colorectal Dis, Tech Coloproctol, and Chinese Journal of Experimental Surgery. Currently, he is vice chairman of Oncology Surgery Branch of Chinese Association of Physicians, chairman of Gastroenterological Surgery Branch of Guangdong Provincial Association of Physicians, vice chairman of Colorectal Surgery Branch of Guangdong Provincial Medical Association, vice chairman of Colorectal Cancer Professional Committee of Guangdong Provincial Anti-cancer Association, member of American Surgery Physician College, vice chairman of Minimally Invasive Surgeon Committee of Guangdong Provincial Association of Physicians, executive director of third council of Guangdong Provincial Association of Physicians and so on. He is engaged in clinical and basic research and education in the field of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, promoting international cooperation in research institutes, sending young researchers to go abroad for further study, cultivating talents in this field, and promoting the development of domestic research in intestinal diseases.
